EXPERT SERVICE FOR URBAN- & FREESKATES

Urban and freestyle skating is practised in an urban environment. Everything is allowed and there are no limits to creativity in how you get to your destination through the city. Stairs are jumped or skated down, appearing obstacles are avoided artfully and when braking, a power slide can be made.

While having fun, it is important to skate according to your abilities and to keep an eye on your surroundings to avoid collisions or accidents with bystanders.

This also demands a lot from the skates. Therefore, models with a hard shell are often used for this style. This means that the boot of the skate is not immediately broken in the event of a fall, but you get away with a few scratches in the shell. The wheel size can vary from 4x80 mm to 3x110 mm, depending on the skater's preferences.

URBAN vs SLALOM

Urban and slalom skating are closely linked, mainly because of the similar construction of the inline skates. You can also do slalom with an urban skate, and you can cruise through the city very well with a slalom skate. Nevertheless, you should consider in advance which direction you want to go, because both types of skates differ in detail. Although both types of skates use hard boots, the material used and the frame and wheel setups can differ considerably.

Find out everything about slalom skating in our slalom guide.

THE RIGHT SIZE & FIT FOR YOUR URBAN SKATES

In urban and freeskating, you change direction quickly, jump and slide. This puts high forces on the material and your body. It is therefore important that you find the perfect fit. This will prevent blisters and chafing and you will have more fun skating.

The best way to do this is to use our fit guide in three easy steps.
