The KV+ Base Insert with thread for the QCD Quick Change System is the ideal solution for upgrading cross-country and Nordic skating poles. This retrofit kit allows QCD tips and QCD baskets to be changed quickly, safely, and with minimal tools – perfect for varying terrain and snow conditions.
The set consists of a base insert and matching threaded ring (nut) and is supplied in pairs. Once permanently installed inside the pole shaft, the integrated thread forms the foundation of the KV+ quick-change system and ensures a reliable, long-lasting connection.

Ideal for ambitious Nordic skaters and cross-country skiers who want to adapt their equipment flexibly and benefit from a convenient, proven quick-change system.
Instructions: The base component for attaching the QCD tips is mounted to the Nordic skating pole as follows:
- Slide the threaded ring over the shaft from below. The thread must face toward the lower end of the pole.
- Then apply hot glue into the insert and push it onto the shaft. Make sure that the groove points in the direction of travel.
- After the glue has cooled and set, attach the tip. Ensure that the tip (spike) points in the direction of travel and locks into the groove of the previously glued base.
- The threaded ring that was initially placed on the shaft is now screwed down from above onto the tip to secure it. We recommend using the QCD Tool.
